Réalisme contemporain

Robert Geurs – Painter of the Morvan was born on a very cold winter day, December 27, 1962, in Amsterdam. Although he was born with a creative and inquisitive mind, he only discovered painting and the visual arts seven years ago. The story behind that discovery is one he may tell you himself someday. Without a doubt, it is a fascinating story worth hearing. For many years, Robert worked in his studios, developing his own unique artistic language. His paintings emerge intuitively, driven by colour, movement, imagination, and emotion. Inspired by nature, life in the Morvan, and his personal experiences, he creates artworks that are both playful and powerful.Today, Robert paints from the heart of the Morvan, where the landscapes, seasons, and atmosphere continue to inspire his work. Each painting reflects his curiosity, creativity, and deep appreciation for the beauty that can be found in everyday life.

After many years of both studying and teaching, Robert and his wife chose to leave the Netherlands and settle in the picturesque Morvan region of Burgundy, France. Surrounded by rolling hills, forests, lakes, and an ever-changing landscape, Robert found a rich source of inspiration for his paintings.

This love of art and creativity naturally led to the creation of Chemin des Arts, an artistic event that brings together artists and art lovers in the beautiful village of Chissey-en-Morvan.On August 7, 8 and 9, visitors are invited to follow an inspiring art trail through the village, discovering exhibitions hosted in various locations and meeting the artists behind the works. The event opens on August 7 at 6:00 PM with a vernissage at the old château, accompanied by live music and a convivial atmosphere. Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore art in all its forms while enjoying the charm of the Morvan.Chemin des Arts concludes on Sunday afternoon with a festive gathering and live music, celebrating creativity, community, and the unique spirit of the village.Everyone with an interest in art is warmly welcome.

Titre : " Les Vignes d'Or "

Above, you can see a picture of the little village of Tavernay in Burgundy and the oil painting. Actually, I was searching for pictures of the harbour of Muiden, but unfortunately I didn’t find any. Instead, I came across this lovely painting of the harbour of Honfleur — and many other beautiful paintings as well. Ici, vous voyez une photo du petit village de Tavernay en Bourgogne et la toile à l’huile.
